To address Africa’s long-standing problem of economic stagnation, The Young African Chief Executive Directors Network (YACEDX) took another giant step to organize a continent-wide entrepreneurship workshop dubbed: The African Magnates Summit and Exhibition 2019.
Speaking at the YACEDX Entrepreneurship Summit (YES) Port Harcourt, Nigeria at the Grand Tokyu Hotels on the 6th of April 2019, the Executive President of YACEDX, Mr. Isaac Kwaku Essien, unveiled the African Magnates Summit and Exhibition 2019 to a gathering of entrepreneurs, company owners, manufacturers, fashion designers, educators, freelancers, consultants, media personnel, venture capitalists, and professionals from different fields.
In the unveiling, he explained that the Summit would be a gathering of over 1000 entrepreneurs from the 54 African nations to rob minds together and to birth innovative initiatives to solve Africa’s long-standing problems of economic stagnation.
The Bank of Ghana Auditorium, University of Ghana campus is billed to play host to this event on Monday 19th August 2019 from 9 am to 6 pm.
The Summit will be honored with the presence of African entrepreneurs, leadership experts, academic and business executives and thought leaders including Edem Attipoe of Ghana Airport Company, Ohemu Godwin Pius of Readers Are Leaders Nigeria, Jones Boakye of YCN, Akosua Opoku Agyemang of Lex Entertainment, Ikenna Princewill Chiozoadighi of Allweda Child Safety Solutions, Lily Edinam Botsyoe of GRIS Global, Kweku Amo-Mensah of Ntsetia Inc., Ama Duncan of The Fabulous Woman Network, Sewor Balasu of The CEO Project Ghana, Loveth Chukwu of Morgate Financial Services, Eric Okomado of Entrepreneurs Square, Fati Shaibu-Ali of e. Academy, Maxwell Beganim of IMDID, Daniel Owusu of Orientation Africa and Winifred Adjei of WA Coaching, UK amongst others.
Also at the summit will be Ministers of States, members of parliament and former state officials. There would be a networking opportunity to learn leadership qualities and experiences from Ghanaian leadership giant, Mr Kenneth Kwamina Thompson, CEO of Dalex Finance.
The keynote presentation will be delivered by Dr Kofi Osei-Kusi of Osei-Kusi Foundation on the theme: “Empowerment For Economic Growth, The Role Of Young People In Entrepreneurship”, while H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana would address the closing ceremony.
The African Magnates Summit and Exhibition 2019 would witness the official unveiling of the “African Magnates Y-Prize Competition 2020”–an entrepreneurial challenge that rewards Young African Entrepreneurs for their most innovative and impactful ideas which tackle Africa’s most pressing problems.
In the Y-Prize Competition, teams of entrepreneurs from the 54 African nations would pitch their business idea and stand the chance to win a grant of up to GHC 1,000,000.00 for 15 teams alongside other noncash prizes, first class mentorship, incubation and tutelage.

Registration starts at 8:30 am and the actual event will begin at 9:00 am and end at 5:30 pm on August 19, 2019, at the Bank of Ghana Auditorium, the University of Ghana Campus.
